Whilst staying in Essons Valley, Picton, you are in a unique spot at the top of the South Island, with a view of the Marlborough Sounds from our extensive grounds, meadows and bush. Walk the local tracks, enjoy the song of Bellbirds and still be only a few minutes away from the centre of Picton.
This fantastic secret valley is our home and we love sharing it with our guests. Your hosts are Sara and Nine and their two daughters. We have cows, chickens, three Alpacas and two cats.
Nine is a dive instructor, a Picton fire fighter and ambulance officer. Sara is a keen walker, a potter and artist who has her art studio on the grounds.
Your comfortable room has a king-size bed, tea and coffee making facilities, private bathroom, use of BBQ and outdoor spa.
There is extra accommodation - a cabin on a small meadow with a creek and a small waterfall running next to it in the NZ bush on the property. Built with honeymooners or meditative getaways in mind, there are no mod cons being built as a traditional pioneer cabin. There is a gas cooker, queen sized bed, bedding and towels provided, also cooking utensils and gas. Lighting is by oil lamp or candles. Bellbirds, a swimming hole with a waterfall nearby, glow worms at night. Totally self contained very private and peaceful. The toilet (chemical) is in a little hut a few yards away across the meadow.

Price:
Inhouse: $135 per room inhouse includes cooked breakfast with family.
Cabin: $100 per night if you buy and make your own breakfast. $135 if
we provide the ingredients fresh every day for you to cook (cereal, eggs,
bacon, bread, yoghurt, fruit).
